Earlier, we had reported that actor Dakota Johnson would star alongside Sean Penn in an upcoming indie drama titled Daddio. The latest update is that the film will hit the theatres on June 28.

Marking the directorial debut of Christy Hall, who is best known for creating Netflix's I am Not Okay with This, Daddio was earlier screened at the Telluride Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

According to reports, Daddio revolves around a taxi ride and is structured as a character study. Also penned by Hall, in Daddio, Johnson will play a young woman who arrives in New York, and Penn will play the taxi driver who strikes up an unexpected conversation with his passenger that quickly changes from amusing, basic exchanges to comical banter to find honesty with regards to delicate topics such as love, loss, sex and power dynamics within relationships.

Besides writing and directing, Hall also serves as the film's co-producer along with Emma Tillinger Koskoff, while Johnson and Ro Donnelly will produce under their TeaTime Pictures banner.
