Nicolas Cage has lately been talking about his potential plan to foray into acting in TV shows and take a break from film acting. However, even then, rumours have been rife about him playing Ghostrider again, especially in an MCU scenario now that Marvel Studios owns the rights to it. Cage is best known among comic book lovers for his Ghostrider titular role, and he played a Superman cameo in last year's The Flash. However, the actor told Deadline that he is not really sure whether he will come back to the comic book film genre anytime soon.

While asking himself whether he would return to this genre, Cage told Deadline, “I guess never say never.”

While Cage also said that he still reads the comics that 12-year-olds peruse, such as 'The Incredible Hulk No. 72', his recent career choices reflect his affinity for more serious acting roles. Of late, Cage headlined the satire Dream Scenario, the post-apocalyptic horror film Arcadian, and the drama Pig.

"I’m going to be more severe and stringent with the movies that I make," Cage told Deadline.

At the same time, he does not fully count out the possibility of him committing to a project with "some pop to it" and "some spark to it," such as a Ghost Rider third part.
