Atlas Teaser: Jennifer Lopez must trust AI to save humanity

The makers of Jennifer Lopez-starrer Atlas have released the teaser of the film. The upcoming science fiction thriller film is slated to premiere on Netflix on May 24.

Set in a high-tech and futuristic world, the one-minute-47-second-long video introduces Lopez’s Atlas Shepherd as a “brilliant but misanthropic data analyst” who is catapulted into a distant world to save the earth from robotic and AI dangers. However, she soon realises that the only way to save earth from artificial intelligence is to trust it.

Atlas is directed by Brad Peyton (Rampage), with a script by Aron Eli Coleite, who is writing a draft based on Leo Sardarian's original script. The feature also stars Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong.

Atlas will be produced by Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell for Safehouse Pictures, along with Peyton and Jeff Fierson for ASAP Entertainment as well as Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina joining Lopez to produce through Nuyorican Productions. Courtney Baxter will executive produce with Matt Schwartz co-producing.

Lopez starred in the 2023 Netflix film The Mother. her other recent acting credits include Shotgun Wedding and Marry Me. She also starred in the Prime Video project This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, released last month to coincide with her ninth studio album, This Is Me…Now.

Director Peyton is best known for his tentpole disaster features like San Andreas and Rampage.
