We had previously reported that Robert De Niro and director Barry Levinson were collaborating on a mob drama film titled Alto Knights. However, we have now learned that the film, which was originally scheduled for release on November 15 of this year, has been postponed and will now be released on March 21, 2025.

Written by Nicholas Pileggi, Alto Knights centres around the feud between crime bosses Frank Costello and Vito Genovese in the 1940s-50s. De Niro will play both roles, with a supporting cast including Debra Messing and Kathrine Narducci playing the wives. The film borrows its title from Alto Knights Social Club in New York, a frequent place to hang out for Mafia.

The film is produced by Irwin Winkler and Jason Sosnoff.
