The Best Picture for 2024 at the 96th Academy Award goes to Oppenheimer. The film received the highest nominations this year, under 13 different categories. Including Best Picture, Oppenheimer went on to win a total of 7 Oscar Awards this year.

The award was received by producers Emma Thomas, Charles Roven, and Christopher Nolan. A biopic of American physicist and the creator of atomic bomb J Robert Oppenheimer, the film was based on the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer, written by Kai Bird and Martin J Sherwin.

The list of Academy Award wins for Oppenheimer also includes Christopher Nolan for Best Director, Robert Downey Jr for Best Supporting Actor, Jennifer Lame for Best Editing, Hoyte Van Hoytema for Best Cinematography, Ludwig Goransson for Best Original Score, and Cillian Murphy for Best Actor.

Directed by Christopher, the ensemble cast of the film includes Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, and Florence Pugh.
