Rebecca Ferguson onboard Chris Pratt's Mercy

The film is a sci-fi thriller helmed by Timur Bekmambetov

Earlier, we reported that Chris Pratt is the lead of Amazon MGM studios' upcoming sci-fi thriller, Mercy. Rebecca Ferguson has now been added to the cast in a lead role.

Timur Bekmambetov is all set to helm Mercy. The filmmaker made his debut with Wanted in 2008, which starred Pratt in a supporting role. Other credits of Bekmambetor include Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Ben-Hur.

Mercy's script comes from Marco van Belle. The film is set in the near future, in a dystopian world where capital crime has increased. Pratt plays a detective accused of a violent crime, who is forced to prove his innocence.

The filming for Mercy is slated to begin in Spring. Charles Roven will produce Mercy for Amazon MGM Studio with Atlas Entertainment SVP Robert Amidon as part of the producing team alongside Bekmambetov’s Bezelevs and film producer Majd Nassif.

Known for her performance in films like The Greatest Showman and the Mission: Impossible Franchise. The actor can now be seen on the big screens in the latest Dune film, Dune: Part Two, in which she plays the role of Lady Jessica.
