Emily Henry's 2023 novel Happy Place has reportedly been taken up by Netflix for a series adaptation which Jennifer Lopez is all set to produce under her Nuyorican banner. The discussions regarding the adaptation are underway as producers and streaming executives are in talks with the writers.

This news comes fresh after the success of Jennifer Lopez's Atlas, which has performed very well. This follows her achievement with The Mother in 2023, which remains highly popular on the streaming platform. Lopez's production company, Nuyorican Productions, signed a multi-year first-look agreement with Netflix in 2021, looking for projects that feature women in front of and behind the camera.

Also known for writing novels like Book Lovers, People We Meet on Vacation and Beach Road, Henry is a No. 1 New York Times and No. 1 Sunday Times bestselling author.

Happy Place is a story about Harriet and Wyn. Once an ideal college couple, they've secretly broken up five months ago. Despite the split, they share a bedroom at a cottage in Maine, the annual vacation spot for all their close friends. To avoid ruining the trip, they pretend to still be together, facing the challenge of maintaining a fake relationship in front of their friends.

The series will be produced by Lopez, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina for Nuyorican. More details regarding casting, director, etc, are yet to be known.
