Batman: Caped Crusader first look: Batman is here to protect Gotham City

Set in the 1940s, the plot of the show follows the events in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series

Amazon Prime Video has shared the first poster for Batman: Caped Crusader, the upcoming series from creators Bruce Timm, Matt Reeves, and JJ Abrams. Based on DC Comics, the series features characters Bruce Wayne/Batman, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Commissioner Jim Gordon, and Clayface, among others. The plot follows billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne as he assumes Batman's identity in his pursuit of justice, bringing in allies from unexpected places while causing risky situations along the way. Set in the 1940s, the plot of the show follows the events in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series.

Batman: Caped Crusader was first announced as an HBO Max series back in 2021, but it scrapped the project before Amazon Prime Video revived it. There is also a second season for the series in the pipeline. Meanwhile, the first season of Batman: Caped Crusader, comprising ten episodes, is scheduled to release on August 1 on Amazon Prime Video.
