The makers of Coraline, the 2009 animation film with a voice cast led by Dakota Fanning, have dropped a trailer announcing the rerelease of the film in theatres. LAIKA Studios' title for the trailer post includes the words "It's Time To Go Back," alluding to the 15th anniversary of the original theatrical release of the film. The studio said in its description, "On August 15, 2024, Coraline returns to theaters in a newly remastered edition with eye-popping 3D. Crawl into the Other World with your favorite characters and experience LAIKA’s classic stop-motion animated feature as you’ve never seen it before."

Written and directed by Henry Selick, the film released in theatres worldwide on February 9, 2009. The official logline reads thus: "While exploring her new home, a girl named Coraline (Dakota Fanning) discovers a secret door, behind which lies an alternate world that closely mirrors her own but, in many ways, is better. She rejoices in her discovery, until Other Mother (Teri Hatcher) and the rest of her parallel family try to keep her there forever. Coraline must use all her resources and bravery to make it back to her own family and life."

The voice cast also includes Jennifer Saunders, Keit David, Dawn French, John Hodgman, Robert Bailey Jr, and Ian McShane.
