Longtime collaborators and best friends Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are set to headline RIP, a crime thriller from writer-director Joe Carnahan, reports Deadline. Damon and Affleck's Artists Equity banner will produce the film, which will go on floors later this year. The makers are yet to reveal any information about the plot of the film. They are now in the process of finding a distribution company for the project.

Affleck and Damon last appeared together in Air, the first film from Artists Equity about how Nike convinced Michael Jordan to sign up for the Air Jordan brand of shoes that revolutionised sports marketing. Affleck is also producing The Instigators, director Doug Liman's crime comedy that stars Affleck's brother, Casey, and Damon. Affleck is also directing the crime thriller Animals, which stars Damon.

Carnahan, meanwhile, is known for films such as Narc, The A-Team, and The Grey.
