A sequel to 2022's Uncharted is in development, confirmed Sony Pictures' president of international distribution Steven O'Dell at the ongoing CineEurope convention in Barcelona. It is among the many film projects that the studio is working on. The makers are yet to reveal plot, cast, and crew details related to the film. However, Tom Holland is reportedly in talks to reprise his role of Nathan Drake from the 2022 original.

Based on a popular video game franchise of the same name, Uncharted follows young Nathan Drake (Holland) and seasoned treasure hunter Victor "Sully" Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) as they race against a ruthless billionaire named Moncada (Antonio Banderas) to claim a fortune lost by Ferdinand Magellan's expedition. The 2022 film also stars Sophia Ali, Tati Gabrielle, Patricia Meeden, Rudy Pankow, and Sarah Petrick. Ruben Fleischer directed it from a screenplay by Rafe Judkins, Art Marcum, and Matt Holloway. Charles Roven and Alex Gartner of Atlas Entertainment, Avi and Ari Arad of Arad Productions, and PlayStation Productions, and Columbia Pictures produced the film.
