The much-awaited Gladiator 2, directed by Ridley Scott is hitting screens worldwide in a few months. Filming completed earlier this year and few photos were shared at the time. Now another set of photos have been circulating on social media. The behind-the-scenes images from Daily Mail show Paul Mescal's Lucius after a bloody battle.

Mescal plays a grown-up version of Lucius, who was played by Spencer Treat Clark in the original movie. A trailer or teaser for the film is yet to be released by the makers.

The sequel of the 2000 epic stars Paul Mescal and Denzel Washington along with Pedro Pascal. Actors Connie Nielsen and Derek Jacobi who starred in the original film will also reprise their roles. Ridley Scott is once again returning to the director's chair.

The sequel of the film is set years after the events of the first film took place and will focus on Lucius (Paul), the son of Conie’s Lucilla and nephew of Commodus (Joaquin). Lucius and Lucilla were saved by Maximus when he defeated Commodus in combat, though he too succumbed to his injuries, allowing him to finally reunite with his murdered wife and son in the afterlife.

It will be backed by Ridley along with Doug Wick, Michael Pruss and Lucy Fisher. The script is written by David Scarpa.

Gladiator 2 is scheduled to hit the big screens on November 22, 2024.
