Minka Kelly has been cast in the lead role of Netflix's romantic-comedy Champagne Problems, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film follows Kelly's mergers and acquisitions professional as she visits France just before Christmas to negotiate and finalise an agreement for a champagne company. However, things become complicated as she starts a romantic relationship with a Paris native who is also the offspring of that champagne brand’s founder.

Mark Steven Johnson will write and direct the film for Netflix. Johnson directed Love, Guaranteed, starring Damon Wayans Jr and Rachael Leigh Cook, and Love in the Villa, featuring Kat Graham and Tom Hopper.

Margret H Huddleston and Stephanie Slack will produce the film for Off Camera Entertainment. The makers are yet to announce further information about the rest of the cast and crew. Champagne Problems is reportedly set to release later this year, although the makers are yet to confirm the date.

Kelly's upcoming projects also include the Netflix show Ransom Canyon, alongside Josh Duhamel.
