The trailer for the upcoming comedy mystery film, Greedy People, was unveiled on Tuesday. Starring  Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Himesh Patel in lead roles, the film is directed by Potsy Ponciroli. 

The trailer shows Patel as a rookie cop who is paired with Gordon-Levitt to learn the drill. We then see Patel accidentally murdering a woman, after which the two find large sums of money in her house. While they plan to escape with the money, other stakeholders and the real criminal come in their way. 

The official synopsis of Greedy People reads, "In this darkly comedic crime thriller, rookie cop Will and his rogue partner Terry upend their small island town when they accidentally discover one million dollars at a crime scene (of their own making). After the duo unwisely decides to steal the money, the community’s quirky residents are lured into the mad dash for cash — ranging from an expectant mom to a masseur to a shrimp company owner — and everyone learns just how far they are willing to go for the almighty dollar."

Greedy People also stars Lily James, Tim Blake Nelson, Simon Rex, Traci Lords, Joey Lauren Adams, Jim Gaffigan, and Uzo Aduba among others. Written by Michael Vukadinovich, the film is all set to hit theatres on August 23.
