The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences opened its official website for entries to the 97th Oscars, the organisation announced on Friday. It is accepting submissions for general categories (picture and others), documentary feature, documentary short, animated short, animated feature, international feature, original score, original song, and live action short.

The due dates for submissions fall between August 15 and November 14 and differ depending on their specific categories. Different due dates apply for Academy Award submissions for general categories, animated features, all short film types, and documentary features—one for the works qualified prior to July 01 and another for the ones that became eligible on or following said date.

The 97th Academy Awards will happen at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on March 02, 2025. Challengers, Inside Out 2, Anora, The Substance, Sing Sing, and Emilia Pérez are among the early Oscar contenders.

The Tovino Thomas starrer 2018: Everyone is a Hero, directed by Jude Anthany Joseph, was India's official entry for the International Feature Oscar last year, but it did not make the shortlist.
