Time Bandits distributor Apple TV released the official trailer for filmmaker Taika Waititi's series, starring Lisa Kudrow, Kal-El Tuck, Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Charlyne Yi, Rachel House, Kiera Thompson, and James Dryden, among others. Created by Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Iain Morris, it is an adaptation of Terry Gilliam's 1981 film Time Bandits. In the series, a teenage boy (Kal-El Tuck) teams up with a team of crack thieves who travel through time to steal treasures. Their chaotic adventures take them from the Ice Age to the African Empire to Napoleon's battlefields and more, but their quest for riches lands them in hot water with a powerful time deity.

In a recent conversation with a Rotten Tomatoes correspondent, Waititi said, "I can tell you that it has my favourite comic actor in the world, Lisa Kudrow. The cast is great, and the plot deals with concepts such as time travel and quantum leaps."

Time Bandits is scheduled for a July 24 release on the Apple TV+ streaming platform.
