The makers of Lisa Frankenstein, the upcoming film, released the official trailer on social media recently. A re-imagination of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, the film stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse in the lead roles.

Helmed by Zelda Williams in directorial debut, and written by Diablo Cody, Lisa Frankenstein is touted as an unconventional love story of a high school girl, who involuntarily resurrects a dead body. As she comes in terms with it, the girl slowly begins to fashion the corpse into man of her dreams. Actors Carla Gugino, and Liza Soberano are also part of the cast.

The trailer shows Lisa unlike any other teenage girl, but someone who is an avid goth follower whose pass time also includes visiting graves. And with the turn of events, as she resurrects a dead body, Lisa also tries to find her pursuit in romance as she navigates through her existence and wishes. The trailer hints at dark comedy, and whacky "coming of (r)age romance" film.

The film is set to hit the theatres on February 9, 2024.
