Trailer for Netflix's biographical drama Shirley is out

Netflix dropped the trailer for the upcoming biographical drama Shirley, starring Regina King as the eponymous character. 

Shirley is written and directed by John Ridley,  who won an Oscar for penning 12 Years a Slave. The film depicts the 1972 presidential run of Shirley Chisholm, who was already the first Black woman to be elected to the United States Congress. The film also stars Lance Reddick, Lucas Hedges, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Christina Jackson, Dorian Crossmond Missick, Amirah Vann, André Holland and Terrence Howard.

The film is produced by Ridley, sisters Regina and Reina King, Anikah McLaren and Elizabeth Haggard. Shirley is scheduled to be released on Netflix on March 22, 2024.
