Disney+ has renewed Percy Jackson and the Olympians for a second season. The 8-episode series premiered on the streamer on December 20 and opened to positive reviews. The series stars Walker Scobell in the titular role and Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase. Aryan Simhadri plays Grover Underwood from the book series.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians revolve around the 12-year-old eponymous character. Everything is fine in his normal life until one of his teachers attacks him and reveals himself to be a monster, leading Percy to learn from his mother that he is a demigod. As he shifts to Camp Half-Blood to be with people like him, trouble brews.

Lance Reddick, Jessica Kennedy, Jason Mantzoukas, and Virginia Kul form the supporting cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Guest and recurring actors are Lin-Manuel Miranda, Megan Mullally, Toby Stephens, Jay Duplass, and Glynn Turman.

The series is based on Rick Riordan's book series. Percy Jackson and the Olympians is run by Jon Steinberg and Dan Shotz and helmed by James Bobin. With the first two episodes set to premiere on December 20, the following episodes will be released every Wednesday.
