A feature film based on the hit Disney+ animated series Bluey is coming to the big screen in 2027. BBC Studios is teaming up with Walt Disney Studios for the upcoming film which will be written and helmed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm.

Bluey is a blue heeler dog, who lives with her mother, father and little sister, Bingo. She turns everyday events in her life into adventures. According to the studio, the film will “continue the adventures of Bluey, a loveable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.”

The series will include voice performances from cast members such as Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack. The score will be composed by Joff Bush, who is the series’ composer. Richard Jeffrey, known for his work on Bluey Seasons 1-3, will co-direct, with Amber Naismith, who has worked on Happy Feet and The Lego Movie, serving as the producer.

Since its debut in 2018, Bluey become a hit among kids and families and routinely ranks among the the most streamed shows on Disney+. A special longer show titled The Sign also became popular, garnering over 10 million views worldwide. It also won the Emmy and BAFTA awards. This year, it also earned a Peabody Award.

The executive producers include Brumm, along with Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson from Ludo Studio, and Justine Flynn from BBC Studios.
