Netflix unveiled the teaser for Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight, an animated series in French, on Monday. The series is based on the Asterix & Obelix comic book franchise by  René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo.

The writer and director of the 2022 live-action Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra, Alain Chabat has created the series and is helming it along with Fabrice Joubert.

The official logline of the series reads, "Rome is desperate to conquer the last independent village in Gaul and the home of Asterix and Obelix. The secret to the Gauls’ battle superiority is a magic potion, but when the potion master loses his memory, the villagers are left to their own devices against the might of Rome.” The series is produced by Alain Goldman and TAT Productions. 

Netflix is bolstering its French offerings through a partnership with Hachette's Les Editions Albert René to adapt the beloved graphic novel series about two Gauls, Asterix and Obelix, who battle Roman occupation with the aid of a magical potion. This move follows successful French productions like Lupin and Call My Agent!. Additionally, Netflix is expanding its animation roster, having recently released That Christmas, an animated holiday film featuring Brian Cox as Santa Claus, based on Richard Curtis' children's stories and directed by Simon Otto.

Asterix & Obelix: The Big Fight is all set to premiere on Netflix in Spring 2025.
