Sidhartha Mallya to star in Thrill Ride

Japanese filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura will direct the film

Vijay Mallya's actor son Sidhartha Mallya is the latest addition to the cast of Thrill Ride, Japanese filmmaker Ryuhei Kitamura's thriller, according to a Variety exclusive. Kitamura will direct the film from a Chad Law screenplay. The plot revolves around a person who threatens to kill passengers stuck on a roller coaster one after another. Mallya will play Trey in the film, whose production is set to begin in the United Kingdom early next year.

Volga Films is set to distribute the film in Benelux and CIS territories, Falcon Films will release it in the Middle East, and Signature has the UK distribution rights. Film Bridge International is negotiating sales to distributors in further territories as well.

Mallya recently appeared in Mafia Wars, along with Cam Gigandet and Tom Welling. On the other hand, Kitamura, who gained prominence with Versus, Godzilla: Final Wars, Azumi, and The Midnight Meat Train, recently worked on Three Sisters of Tenmasou and The Price We Pay.
