In a major cast announcement in Spike Lee's High & Low, American rap artist A$AP Rocky has joined the film as the lead actor.

We had earlier reported that the film includes actors Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, and Ice Spice. Apart from them, the film also stars Dean Winters, Ilfenesh Hadera, and John Douglas Thompson.

High & Low is a reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 crime thriller film in the English language. The film revolves around a Yokohama shoe company executive, who finds himself in a dangerous situation when his chauffeur's son is mistakenly kidnapped and held for ransom. It is still unclear whether High & Low is an exact reinterpretation of the original film. Spike Lee collaborated with writer Alan Fox for a screenplay adapted from Evan Hunter's novel King's Ransom.

The film's technical crew comprises cinematographer Matthew Libatique and editors Barry Alexander Brown and Allyson C Johnson.

High & Low will be produced by Todd Black for Escape Artists and Jason Michael Berman for Mandalay Pictures. Lee will serve as executive producer under his 40 Acres and a Mule Filmworks banner, apart from directing.
