Actor Kate Winslet is all set to play the lead in the upcoming Hulu series The Spot. Ed Solomon, best known for writing movies such as Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Men in Black, Charlie's Angels and Now You See Me, serves as writer, executive producer, and showrunner of The Spot.
The official logline of the series states, "When a successful surgeon (Winslet) and her schoolteacher husband begin to suspect that she may be responsible for a child’s hit-and-run death, their quest for truth spirals into a web of mounting suspicion and dark secrets, testing their resolve and their relationship as they confront the possibility of hidden guilt and betrayal."
Apart from headlining the series, Winslet will also be executive producing the project under her Juggle Productions banner. A24 is the lead studio in co-production with 20th Television.
Winslet is a critically acclaimed actor who recently starred The Regime, a limited TV series from HBO. Her Juggle Productions previously produced the hit show Mare of Easttown (2021) and the feature film Lee. Both of them starred her in the lead role. For Mare of Easttown, she won the Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Limited Series. She also won the same award in 2011 for her role in the series Mildred Pierce.
Up next, she has another HBO series Trust in the works. She also has the much-anticipated James Cameron's Avatar: Fire and Ash.
