We had earlier reported that Colin Farrell, along with Robert Pattinson, would reprise their roles in the sequel to the 2022 Matt Reeves superhero film The Batman

On Wednesday, Mattson Tomlin, screenwriter for the first part as well as the sequel, said in an interview with Screen Rant that filming would be taking place next year. The film is expected to see Reeves return to the director's chair.

"It's shooting next year. We're gearing up, and I will say that the bar just couldn't be higher. It's the sequel to the first one. But also, Matt [Reeves] is like no other... I'm psyched for the movie," said Tomlin.

The Batman starred Pattinson as the titular character/Bruce Wayne, Colin Farrell as The Penguin, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, among others.
