Production on The Last of Us season 2 has been completed, announced its editor Timothy Good through an X post the other day. An adaptation of the eponymous video game series and created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsay in the lead roles. It is set in the aftermath of an outbreak that turned 90 per cent of the global population into zombies. The first season of the show is widely recognised as one of the best-ever video game adaptations and won in eight categories at the Primetime Emmy Awards. The upcoming season, meanwhile, is based partly on the much-debated second outing in the game franchise. The events in season 2 take place five years later, with Joel and Ellie settled in Jackson, Wyoming, alongside the former’s brother Tommy (Gabriel Luna).

Season 2 introduces Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, who makes a choice that has a major effect on the trajectory of the plot in the upcoming season. The new additions to the cast also include Isabela Merced as Dina.
