Dream Productions, a spinoff series to the blockbuster Disney franchise Inside Out, was announced by Disney on Saturday. Pete Docter, who is the chief creative officer at Pixar as well as the director of the first Inside Out movie, said at the D23 event, "Thank you for making Inside Out 2’ the number 1 animated film of all time. If you love the film as much as we do, I’ve got some great news."

Dream Productions is set to release in 2025, in a timeline between the first two films. It is set in a studio where the protagonist, Riley Andersen, gets her dreams made. 

The series will be Pixar's second original series after Win or Lose, which was announced earlier on Saturday. “In the first film, remember we go to Dream Productions to see how Riley’s dreams are made? It semi-explains why they’re so weird. We’ve continued the exploration of the power of dreams and how they affect us in our waking life as well. So it’s pretty cool,” said Docter. 

Inside Out 2, which was released earlier this year, is the highest-grossing animated film ever, having grossed more than 1.5 billion USD.
