Jennifer Lopez and Jharrel Jerome star in debutant director William Goldenberg’s upcoming sports drama Unstoppable. Amazon MGM Studios dropped some first-look photographs for the film produced by Lopez’s actor-filmmaker husband, Ben Affleck.
Unstoppable is the story of wrestler Anthony Robles (Jerome) who defied all odds to claim a national championship despite being born with one leg. Lopez plays his unwavering mother Judy, and Bobby Cannavale portrays the role of his father Rick. Also part of the star-studded cast are Don Cheadle as wrestling coach Shawn Charles and Michael Peña as coach Bobby Williams.
Goldenberg, best known as the editor of Affleck's 2013 Oscar Best Picture winner Argo, makes his directorial debut with this biopic. Adapted from Anthony Robles and Austin Murphy’s book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion, the film is set to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this September before hitting theatres in December.
Fresh off her sci-fi venture Atlas, Lopez's upcoming films include Bill Condon's film Kiss of the Spider Woman, billed as a musical drama. The multi-hyphenate celebrity recently turned 55, and her birthday celebrations included a lavish Bridgerton-themed bash.
