One Hand Clapping, the documentary about the making of Paul McCartney and Wings' eponymous album, will release on September 26. Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios will release the documentary film in theatres worldwide. The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage, including interviews with team Wings, some of their popular songs, and insights from their creative staff.
“It’s so great to look back on that period and see the little live show we did. We made a pretty good noise actually! It was a great time for the band, we started to have success with Wings, which had been a long time coming," stated McCartney. The Beatles singer's exclusively shot scene will serve as the introduction to the documentary screenings, alongside unprecedented Polaroid photos from Wings' recording sessions.
The documentary from director David Litchfield also has the hitherto unreleased track 'Backyard Sessions', featuring McCartney performing favourite songs from his catalogue with an acoustic guitar. Some of the highlights are the yet-to-be-released 'Blackpool' track as well as covers of his personal favourites such as 'Twenty Flight Rock', which he rendered for The Beatles' John Lennon the first time they met.
"We are looking forward to bringing the legendary music of Paul McCartney to the big screen and offering fans a front-row seat to his enduring legacy,” stated Trafalgar Releasing's CEO Marc Allenby. “This cinematic experience will transport audiences back to a golden era of rock and roll while captivating new fans with the magic of this iconic band. It’s a must-see event for music lovers of all generations.”
Besides One Hand Clapping, McCartney is the subject of an upcoming biopic from director Sam Mendes. The Skyfall filmmaker is also attached to direct a biopic each on the other three Beatles singers: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison.
