The publisher Canongate has planned to publish Warren Adler's classic, The War of the Roses, alongside the film remake starring Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch.

The publisher announced that the hardcover of the 1981 novel will be published in March 2025 and unveil its film tie-in edition in the second half of 2025.

The Roses is a remake of the 1989 classic The War of the Roses. The film, helmed by Jay Roach, has script penned by Tony McNamara.

The description of the dark-comedy film reads, "Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Theo (Cumberbatch) and Ivy (Colman): successful careers, great kids, an enviable sex life. But underneath the façade of the perfect family is a tinderbox of competition and resentment that’s ignited when Theo’s professional dreams come crashing down." The Roses is currently in development."

Cumberbatch also produces under his SunnyMarch banner along with Leah Clarke and Adam Ackland, Colman, Ed Sinclair and Tom Carver, Roach and Michelle Graham.
