Netflix released the trailer for their upcoming sports drama, Rez Ball, on Tuesday. The coming-of-age film is produced by American basketball player LeBron James and follows the story of the 'Chuska Warriors,' a high school basketball team rich in Native American heritage. The team loses its star player and must come together to keep their state championship dreams alive.

The film is written by Sydney Freeland and Sterlin Harjo and directed by Freeland. It releases on the streaming platform on September 27 and will have its world premiere during the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

It has an ensemble cast that includes Jessica Matten, Julia Jones, Amber Midthunder, Kiowa Gordon, and Dallas Goldtooth, among many more.

For Freeland, who told Netflix that she is a “huge basketball fan” who also “loves to play” and competed in high school, Rez Ball is a story that she and Harjo were committed to telling “from the inside out.”
