Veteran director and producer Daniel M Selznick dies at 88

He has produced the television mini-series Blood Feud and Hoover vs. the Kennedys, in addition to Targets and Night Terror

Known for his direct connection to the Hollywood industry's founding families, director, producer, and executive Daniel Mayer Selznick passed away on August 1 at the Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills, California. He was 88.

Selznick, who grew up in Beverly Hills, is the younger son of iconic David O Selznick and theatrical producer Irene Mayer Selznick, and also the grandson of MGM mogul Louis B Mayer and his first wife, Margaret Shenberg Mayer.

George School, Harvard University, and the University of Geneva were his alma maters. Selznick did his graduate work at Brandeis University.

For most of his active years, he served as the director of the Louis B Mayer Foundation. He has produced the television mini-series Blood Feud and Hoover vs. the Kennedys, in addition to Targets and Night Terror. He also served as a writer in his production, Reagan's Way: Pathway to the Presidency.

Though he has been married three times, Daniel Selznick has no immediate survivors.
