Days after Jamie Lee Curtis' comment on Marvel films courted controversy and received backlash, the actor publicly apologised for her statement on social media and stated that what she said was "stupid" and assured that she "will do better."

Curtis was recently asked "What phase is 'Marvel Cinematic Universe in?" while promoting her upcoming film Borderlands in an interview. She responded by saying, "Bad." In an X post, she shared that she regrets her comment and had reached out to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige to apologise.

"My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better," Jamie Lee Curtis said on X. "I've reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe films such as Eternals, Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder and The Marvels turned out to be the big disappointment for the studio with many calling it a decline after 2019's Avengers: End Game.

But the recent Deadpool & Wolverine smashed box office records earning $438.3 million and the eighth-biggest domestic weekend box office debut of all time, with ticket sales reaching $205 million. It also helped Marvel Studios cross $30 billion at the global box office.

The lead actor from the action films Ryan Reynolds responded to Curtis' apology in a fun way and wrote, "Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?"

Meanwhile, on the work front, Jamie Lee Curtis' Borderlands is releasing on August 8. It also stars Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black in lead roles.
