Noomi Rapace has signed on to Reckoner as the lead of the film, billed as a psychological thriller. Rapace is reportedly a replacement for Christina Hendricks, who pulled out of the project because of scheduling conflicts. Z For Zachariah writer Nissar Modi is making his directorial debut with the film and is also writing it. Two & Two Pictures and XYZ Films are producing it, as part of their agreement to back the projects of debutant and sophomore filmmakers hailing from underrepresented populations.

“We are immensely excited to join forces with an exceptionally talented team for Reckoner. It is an honour to have Noomi Rapace on board to complement Nissar’s electrifying directorial debut,” stated Two & Two Pictures.

Reckoner follows a rich woman (Rapace), whose carefully constructed existence is affected by the arrival of a youngster with ties to her secret past.

Rapace, who is best known for 2009's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, most recently appeared in Assassin Club and Constellation.
