Francis Galluppi has been tapped in as the writer and director for the new Evil Dead by Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert's Ghost House Pictures.

The plot details are kept under the wraps. It is being reported that it was Galluppi's original story that was brought to Raimi and his team.

Galluppi made his debut with the crime thriller The Last Stop In Yuma County, which follows a travelling hostage, who, while being stranded at a rural Arizona rest stop, is thrust into a dire hostage situation by the arrival of two bank robbers with no qualms about using cruelty-or cold, hard steel-to protect their bloodstained fortune.

The film was premiered at the Fantastic Fest on Spetember 23, 2023. It will have a release in select theatres and on digital formats on May 10, 2024.
