Screenwriter Jordan Allen-Dutton is attached to the Richard Simmons biopic, starring comedian-actor Pauly Shore, according to Deadline. Shore is starring in and co-producing the untitled film based on the life of American fitness coach Richard Simmons. Mark Wolper is also part of the production team of the film. Wolper describes it as “a dramatic and heartfelt feature in the tone of Little Miss Sunshine.”

This is the second time that Shore is playing Simmons; the first one was Jake Lewis' short film The Court Jester. Simmons disavows this biopic, stating "don’t believe everything you read," but Shore has hinted that it is needed “now more than ever.”

When it comes to the film, Allen-Dutton said,  “I hope to make Richard’s story inspiring, tight, and provocative like a good pair of dolphin shorts.”

Allen-Dutton has multiple Emmy award nominations for Adult Swim’s series titled Robot Chicken. Further, he has scripted drama show pilots for Warner Brothers, Berlanti, Apple, and Ley Line Entertainment.
