Echo Films of Jennifer Aniston and Kristin Hahn is producing the reimagining of 9 to 5, according to an Insneider report. The project is in the works at 20th Century Studios, with writer Diablo Cody working on its latest draft. The makers are yet to reveal any details about the film's plot.

The 1980 original revolves around three female office secretaries and their plan on avenging their sexist and egotistical boss. An office satire, the original 9 to 5 starred Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, Dabney Coleman, and Lily Tomlin. Colin Higgins directed it from a Patricia Resnick screenplay. It spawned an ABC sitcom with the same title.

Diablo Cody is best known as the writer of Juno and Lisa Frankenstein. On the other hand, some of Aniston's recent credits as a producer are The Morning Show, Friends: The Reunion,” and the two Murder Mystery films. She also executive produced and acted in the dramedy Dumplin’ from director Anne Fletcher.
