Michael Jackson's biopic to star Derek Luke as Johnnie Cochran

Michael, the biopic of the King of Pop Michael Jackson, has added Derek Luke to its cast to feature as Johnnie Cochran. Cochran is the famed attorney who represented Jackson in court and ensured an out-of-court settlement in the 1993 child molestation case. 

Helmed by Antoine Fuqua, Michael stars Jackson's nephew Jaafar Jackson as the titular character, while Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier and Juliano Krue Valdi play key roles. Written by John Logan (Gladiator), the film is set to cover all aspects of Michael Jackson's life which will also include the child sexual assault allegations that have been made against him.

Michael will be the first major film role for 26-year-old Jaafar, who is the second-youngest son of Michael Jackson's older brother and Jackson 5 member Jermaine Jackson.

Jamal R. Henderson, Jayden Harville, Tre Horton, Jaylen Lyndon Hunger, Rhyan Hill, Judah Edwards, Joseph David-Jones, Nathaniel Logan McIntyre, Larenz Tate, Kat Graham, Jessica Sula, Liv Symone, Kendrick Sampson, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, and Kevin Shinick, round out the ensemble of Michael

Michael Jackson is a renowned pop culture icon, commonly referred to as the King of Pop. He popularised the moonwalk dance move, and holds 15 Grammy Awards, 39 Guinness World Records, and one Golden Globe Award, to name a few. He died in 2009, at the age of 50.
