Famke Janssen open to returning as Jean Grey for X-Men

Actress Famke Janssen said she is open to reprising the role of Jean Grey/Phoenix in the X-Men films, but is not sure what plans Marvel has.

The actress while talking of the possibilities of reviving Jean Grey said she had come back as Phoenix in The Last Stand and in the flashback scenes of The Wolverine and in Days of Future Past, even after the death of Jean Grey in X-Men: The Last Stand.

In Stan Lee's comics, this character, true to the name Phoenix, dies and gets revived on several occasions.

Janssen first acted in the 2000 film and went on to play the mutant in 2003's X2 and 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. She also made cameos in 2013's The Wolverine and 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past in the flashback scenes.

Sophie Turner played Grey's younger version in 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse and 2019's X-Men: Dark Phoenix.

Janssen has Boy Kills World from debut director Moritz Mohr, awaiting its release. She stars alongside, Bill Skarsgård, H. Jon Benjamin, Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Isaiah Mustafa, Andrew Koji, Sharlto Copley, Yayan Ruhian, and Quinn Copeland.

The film which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last year will have a theatrical release on April 26.
