Outer Range season 2 trailer: The mystery surrounding the void deepens

CE Features

Prime Video unveiled the trailer for the second season of Josh Brolin's Outer Range, on Monday. The second season is scheduled to premiere on Prime Video on May 16.

Outer Range, created by Brian Watkins, features Brolin as Royal Abbott, a Wyoming rancher fighting for his land and family who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming's wilderness - a dark void.

The trailer opens with a voiceover questioning how it is known that it took six days to create the Earth, and how a day could be defined before time existed. The trailer then cuts to scenes of violence and mystery, with characters discussing that the void may be a portal to the past and future.

The mystery surrounding the void on the west pasture of the ranch deepens in Outer Range Season 2, as Royal and his wife Cecelia (Lili Taylor) struggle to keep their family together in the aftermath of their granddaughter’s disappearance. The stakes are higher for the Abbotts, who now face threats on multiple fronts.

In addition to Brolin and Taylor, Imogen Poots, Tamara Podemski, Lewis Pullman, Tom Pelphrey, Noah Reid, Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza, Olive Abercrombie and Will Patton also star in Outer Range season 2. Christian James, Megan West, Daniel Abeles, Kimberly Guerrero and Monette Moio will recur this season.

Josh Brolin is also making his directorial debut with Outer Range season 2. Season 2 comes from showrunner and executive producer Charles Murray, with all 7 episodes dropping on the same day.
