Universal Pictures announced that Peter Dinklage would lend his voice to Dr Dillamond the Goat in its Wicked, a film adapted from the popular Broadway musical of the same name. The studio made the announcement at CinemaCon the other day while unveiling a clip from Wicked, which will release in theatres on November 27 this year. There are two parts for Wicked from director Jon M Chu; the second instalment is set for a November 26, 2025, release.

Cynthia Erivo stars as a youngster named Elphaba in Wicked, who is yet to find out what her real power is and is misunderstood due to her green skin. It also stars Ariana Grande as Glinda, a privileged and ambitious young woman who is yet to realise where her heart lies. The film follows their adventures that will see them realising their destinies as the witches of Oz.

Winnie Holzman and Stephen Schwartz are adapting the musical for the screen. On the other hand, the Broadway show's filmmaker Marc Platt is also on board as a producer.

Dinklage's Dr Dillamond takes the shape of a goat in the film, but he is a history professor at Shiz University. Dinklage is most popular for playing  Tyrion Lannister in HBO's Game of Thrones, a character that earned him a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy Awards.
