Grosse Pointe Garden Society to star Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb and Ben Rappaport

CE Features

Melissa Fumero, known for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Act-fame AnnaSophia Robb and For The People star Ben Rappaport is all set to headline the NBC drama pilot Grosse Pointe Garden Society. The pilot comes from Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs and Universal Television.

Fumero, Robb and Rappaport play three out of four members of a suburban garden club, the protagonists of the drama. Coming from different walks of life, the group struggle to make their conventional life work, and thereby get entangled in murder and mischief.

Fumero will be seen as Birdie, a successful author whose memoir titled Digging for Gold: Dancing Through Divorce is a bestseller. Entitled, rich, and indulgent in smoking and drinking, she hides real pain under the facade. She is both toxic to others and self-destructive occasionally.

Robb will feature as Alice, a longtime member of the Grosse Pointe Garden Society. She plays the quintessential high school English teacher, whose dreams are not really materialising.

Rappaport will play Brett, who put his own dreams of beginning a car restoration business on hold so his then-wife, now ex-wife, could complete law school. Cool in a worn-out way, Brett is now a manager of a garden store so he can care for his kids.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society will be helmed by Maggie Kiley, who is also executive producing under Minnesota Logging Co. She executive produces alongside Krebs and Casey Kyber.
