Chris Sanders to helm animated film The Wild Robot

The film will be based on the book of the same name written by Peter Brown.

Filmmaker Chris Sanders, who made How to Train Your Dragon and Lilo & Stitch, is set to helm another animated film titled The Wild Robot, which will be based on the book of the same name written by Peter Brown.

The upcoming animated film will revolve around the robot named Roz which will be washed ashore on an island. While there is no one, it befriends a gosling named Brightbill along with group of other animals. The film is in nascent stage of development.

While a release date of the film is yet to be announced, The Wild Robot is attached to DreamWorks Animation. Sanders will be reuniting with DreamWorks after 10 years since the release of The Croods. The director will also be writing the screenplay, besides direction. Raymond Zibach is the production designer, with Mary Blee as editor.
