We had earlier reported that Emerald Fennell's upcoming feature directorial Saltburn will be hitting the screens in New York and Los Angeles on November 24 and will expand wide on December 1. However now, the makers have advanced the release by one week and will now arrive on November 17 with a limited release, followed by wide release on November 22. The film is also set for a second premiere at the BFI London Film Festival on October 4.

With the new release date, Saltburn will release along with Ridley Scott’s Napoleon on November 22 and  The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on November 17.

Saltburn stars an ensemble cast, including Rosamund Pike, Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Richard E. Grant, Alison Oliver and Archie Madekwe, among others. The film is set against the backdrop of mid-2000s and was shot across the locations of UK. According to BFI, the synopsis reads, “The story sees student Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) struggling to find his place at Oxford University and finding himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.”

Saltburn marks Fennell's sophomore directorial after the Oscar-winning 2020 film, Promising Young Woman, which was nominated for a few categories at the 93rd Academy Awards, including Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Film Editing. And Fennell went on to win Best Original Screenplay. 

Fennell also served as the scriptwriter of Saltburn.
