The upcoming Robert De Niro-starrer Wise Guys has been rechristened as Alto Knights. Initially slated for release on February 2, 2024, the makers have also changed the plans and pushed it to November 15, 2024.

The new title borrows its name from Alto Knights Social Club in New York, a frequent place to hangout for Mafia.

Alto Knights will centre around the feud between crime bosses Frank Costello and Vito Genovese in the 1940s-50s. In what may come as a surprise, De Niro will be playing both the roles, with a supporting cast including Debra Messing, Kathrine Narducci playing the wives.

Barry Levinson will serve as the director of Alto Knights. Written by Nicholas Pileggi, the film is backed by Irwin Winkler and Jason Sosnoff.
