Apple TV+ announced a new three-part documentary series titled John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial, with Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland serving as the narrator.

The docu-series will focus on the life and murder of musical and cultural icon John Lennon, followed by the probe, and conviction of Mark David Chapman, the confessed killer. The series will include exclusive eyewitness interviews and previously unseen crime scene photos.

John Lennon: Murder Without A Trial is the most thoroughly researched examination of John Lennon’s 1980 murder, which shocked and saddened the world,” reads the logline. For the series, the makers were granted extensive Freedom of Information Act requests from the New York City Police Department, the Board of Parole and the District Attorney’s office. It will also feature interviews with Chapman’s defense lawyers, psychiatrists, detectives and prosecutors.

The series is produced by BAFTA and Emmy Award-winning team at 72 Films, with Nick Holt and Rob Coldstream as the directors.
