Sebastian Stan onboard The Apprentice to play young Donald Trump

Sebastian Stan has joined the ensemble of The Apprentice to essay the role of a young Donald Trump. The film, which commenced principal photography this week, comes from filmmaker Ali Abbasi known for Holy Spider. 

Jeremy Strong and Maria Bakalova are also a part of this film's cast. The Apprentice will reportedly tell the story of Trump in the 1970s and 80s, building his real estate business in New York City. 

Gabriel Sherman, who is known for The Loudest Voice in the Room the biography of Fox News founder Roger Ailes, has penned the script for The Apprentice. The film will have a mentor-mentee narrative that will address topics such as power, corruption and deception. 

Danial Bekerman of Scythia Films, Jacob Jarek of Profile Pictures, and Ruth Treacy of Taylored Films are bankrolling the upcoming film. A release date is yet to be announced by the makers.
