Actor Charithra Chandran, known for her stint in the second season of Bridgerton, is all set to headline a drama series titled Arzu. The series is based on the eponymous novel penned by Riva Razdan from Mumbai, India.

Arzu is set to be written by Geetika Lizardi, who has previously written scripts like Bridgerton, Mira Royal Detective and Outsourced. She will also be the showrunner of the series. The show is set to be backed by Blink49 Studios and YouTuber Lilly Singh's Unicorn Island Productions. There seems to be a first-look deal between the two production houses.

Arzu will revolve around a heiress, brilliant and young, who lands in New York City, after escaping a scandal in Mumbai. As she trains to enter into glamorous Manhattan high society, Arzu wishes to live life on her own terms and risks throwing it all away.

Lilly Singh will be executive producing the series under Unicorn Island Productions, along with Polly Auritt. Carolyn Newman and Virginia Rankin will produce under Blink49 Studios, while Chandran and Lizardi will also executive produce.
