Naruto live-action is in the works

After the One Piece live-action adaptation received critical and commercial success, another successful anime is finally getting a live-action adaptation. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto is all set to receive a film adaptation.

While it was earlier reported that Lionsgate is adapting Naruto, the project was in production hell for years. Now, reports state that Tasha Huo has been brought on board to write the screenplay for the film. Huo is currently writing the screenplay for the film adaptation of Red Sonja.

Talking about adapting Naruto, Huo says, 'Adapting iconic characters or IP makes the writing of it easier, because the passion for writing it is already there. I’m so inspired by these characters already that it’s exciting to just take a part of their journey and try to tell that fun story in a way that would appeal to me as a fan." Naruto, which was originally published in 1999 and ended its run in 2014. The spinoff series, titled Boruto, is currently in the run
