Brendan Fraser is set to essay the role of a down-and-out actor living in Tokyo. He is hired as a token American guy for a Japanese rental-family company, which leads him on a surprising journey of self-exploration as he plays different roles in other people's lives.

The film will begin shooting in Japan in Spring. Blahut and Tomo Koizumi will exec produce. Since 2019, Hikari has been developing Rental Family. She will be producing the film along with Shin Yamaguchi as well as Eddie Vaisman and Julia Lebedev of Sight Unseen Productions.
